Haralson-Paulding DTF Arrest Two Drug Traffickers

PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. – After a lengthy investigation, Agents with the Haralson-Paulding Drug Task Force (HPDTF) arrest two Paulding County men on drug trafficking charges.

Following tips that were sent to HPDTF Agents, an investigation was launched and over one hundred thousand dollars, large quantities and multiple types of narcotics, and over a dozen firearms were seized.

On August 2, 2023 HPDTF Agents along with Deputies from the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T. Team, Crime Suppression Unit, K-9 Unit, Crime Scene Investigators, and the Warrants/Civil Division executed search warrants at 54 Alana Court Dallas, GA and 106 Collins Run Lane Dallas, GA.

Following the search warrants being executed, Aaron Ryan Jones and Sherod Montraze Birdsong were arrested. As a result of their arrests, the duo have been charged with the below listed offenses thus far:

Aaron Ryan Jones (B/M), 41 YOA

-VGCSA Trafficking Cocaine (F)

-VGCSA Possession of Cocaine With Intent to Distribute (F)

-VGCSA Trafficking Fentanyl (F)

-VGCSA Trafficking Heroin (F)

Sherod Montraze Birdsong (B/M) 38 YOA

-VGCSA Trafficking Cocaine (F) 2 Counts

-VGCSA Trafficking Fentanyl (F)

-VGCSA Trafficking Heroin (F)

-VGCSA Trafficking Methamphetamine (F)

-VGCSA Distribution/Sale of Cocaine (F)

-VGCSA Possession of Cocaine (F)

-VGCSA Distribution/Sale of Heroin (F)

Drugs/Money/Guns Located:

-1 Kilogram (2.2 lbs) of Methamphetamine

-Over 200 Grams of Heroin/Fentanyl

-Multiple Ounces of Cocaine

-Over $100,000 in US Currency

-15 Firearms (Pistols and Rifles)

-2 of the Firearms Were Stolen Out of Paulding County

-Thousands of Rounds of Ammunition

Sheriff Gary Gulledge noted, “With the opioid epidemic taking lives on a regular basis, I am proud of the work our drug task force has done to rid our community of these life ending drugs. Our partnership with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, who oversees the Haralson-Paulding Drug Task Force, has always proven to help keep our community a safe place to live, work, and play.”

Currently, Birdsong and Jones are being held in the Paulding County Jail with no bond. As this investigation progresses, there may be additional charges for both Birdsong and Jones. Furthermore, there may also be additional individuals arrested in this case as well.
