Theft Ring Takedown

On December 16, 2021 at approximately 1100 hours, the Dallas Police Department’s Uniform Patrol Division witnessed two suspects in possession of a stolen UHAUL truck in the area of W. Memorial Drive. The two suspects were identified as Delayna Nesmith (W/F, 35yro) of Dallas, GA. and Kenneth Moore (W/M, 29yro) of Villa Rica, GA.
The suspects pulled into a local storage facility and began to off-load the UHAUL. Dallas Police Officers surrounded the suspects and took them into custody without incident. Criminal investigators from the Dallas Police Department initiated an investigation into the reported incident. During the investigation, it was learned that the suspects may have been involved in criminal activity in surrounding jurisdictions.
The Dallas Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit and Crime Suppression Unit obtained three search warrants over the course of this on-going investigation. During the execution of these search warrants, reported stolen property was found which linked the suspects to a multitude of recent thefts that occurred in the City of Dallas and surrounding jurisdictions.
Representatives from the Dallas Police Department are currently working with the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office in an attempt to linked the suspects to further alleged thefts.
Delayna Nesmith has been charged with several counts of Theft by Taking and Theft by Conversion. Kenneth Moore has also been charged with several counts of Theft by Taking.
